Two Months Old

Mallory is already two months old!  We don't go to the doctor until next week for her two month check-up and shots, but I know she is growing like a weed.  Its fun to see how different her and Chloe are at this age.  Mallory is long, but has a much longer torso than legs at this age, where Chloe was, and still is, pretty evenly dispersed.  Chloe is the left picture and Mallory is the right picture, in case you couldn't tell!  You can really tell how different they are, beyond just the hair color.

We finally moved Mallory into her own crib in her room this week and she is doing great with the transition.  I'd say we are already "sleeping through the night", just depends on if I want a little more sleep or not.  She will go 7 or 8 hours usually after her last feeding at night, so I take it as a huge win.  Of course, there are still nights that aren't that long, but she is two months old and it is to be expected.  I'll take the extra sleep any time she wants to give it to me.

Mallory is much more talkative that Chloe ever was as a baby.  Mallory will just sit/ lay there and talk and coo up a storm.  It is so much fun to listen to her little conversations.  She loves to smile now too, which always warms our hearts.  Mallory has also rolled from her stomach to her back a few times, but nothing with regularity yet, and that is just fine with us. 

Chloe has really taken to Mallory over this past month as well.  She will now tell you that she "loves Mallory" and gives her kisses, Chloe brings Mallory toys all the time to play with, and will always try to cover her up with a blanket to keep her from being cold.  But my favorite is probably when we are in the car.  If Mallory starts to get fussy, Chloe will start to sing to her.  Chloe sings very softly, like she doesn't want me to know that she is doing it, but it still just warms my heart to hear her singing "Ariel" to Mallory to try and make her happy.

All in all we are beyond blessed with our little family of four.  The transition has gone very well and it is already hard to imagine what it was like before Mallory was here.  We are just very thankful for how happy Mallory is and how well Chloe has adjusted.

This past month was pretty busy, as it always is.  We celebrated Nolen's birthday, went to Denver for Thanksgiving, many play dates, and started getting ready for Christmas.  Here are some pictures from the past month.

While Nolen was out of town, Chloe helped me start decorating the house for Christmas.  I put a tree in her room and let her decorate it as she wished.  It took her over an hour to put the ornaments on because they all had to go in a certain place.  She loves her tree and asks for me to turn the lights on first thing every morning. 

We introduced Chloe to smores a few weekends ago.  She had been asking for a fire in the fireplace for about a week, but Nolen was out of town.  When he got home we decided to do it right.  She loved it, and even more when she realized she got to eat marshmallows too. 

My double jogging stroller came in this month!  Here is a picture from our first walk in it!

There was a "fall fest" at Chloe's Mothers Day Out one friday this past month and we all went.  Chloe loved petting all the animals in the petting zoo and doing all of the crafts.  Plus she got to introduce Nolen to her teachers and some of her friends.
