So in the midst of our busy summer, it's been a while since I posted. I'd like to say Mallory isn't suffering from the second child syndrome, but I think she partially is, at least when it comes to updating you all with her. Mallory is 11 months old today! She is growing like a weed and has her own personality very different from Chloe's. She is cruising everywhere but still isn't too interested in balancing on her own, which is just fine by me. Mallory talks up a storm and loves to eat anything you put in front of her, but her favorite is meat! That child will eat more meat and protein than anything else if you let her. She loves playing in her sisters room, especially when Chloe doesn't know she has gone in there. Astro is also becoming one of her favorite things/ people to play with.
Chloe is doing wonderful. She started back at Mother's Day Out yesterday and loved it. Came running into our room yesterday morning asking if it was finally time to go to MDO! She took off down the hall at the church and didn't even turn around to tell me and Mallory goodbye. In fact, she started crying when we came to pick her up because she wasn't ready to leave yet. I think our decision to put her there two days a week this year will be good for her. She also starts dance next week and I cannot wait. She will do both ballet and tap in her one class and then have a recital in the spring.
Since my last update we have been traveling a little bit. We spent some time out at the ranch, which was amazing. We got to spend a week with cousin Curt and Rosalie, as well as all the brothers and their wives were there. It was the first time all 14 of us had been together, well ever since the babies were born. It was a lot of fun and we were able to celebrate Caleb & Julia's engagement as well as Papi's retirement. As always, the time went by way too fast, but fun was had by all.
When we left, however, we left Chloe and Astro with Kiki and Papi for her own time with them. Cousin Curt stayed as well, and I think they all had a blast. Chloe was telling me stories for weeks after she got home and still asks me when it's time to go back to the ranch.
Then in August we went up to Dallas for a week for my dearests friends wedding and to see family. It was so special to be there for her big day along with my parents, just amazing. Chloe also turned 3 while we were there! I cannot believe I have a 3 year old! We celebrated with a family party there is Dallas. It was so nice to have both my sets of grandparents as well as my cousins and Aunt there.
We also got to spend a day up in Decatur while in Dallas. The girls loved seeing Gram Gram and all their great-aunts almost as much as Nolen and I did.
After we made it back to Louisiana we had a party here for all her friends, yes Frozen themed. Chloe may only be 3, but she often talks and acts much older than she is. I know, she gets it from both sides, but it's still funny to see. Chloe had told me she wanted a Frozen party at a splash pad, so that's exactly what she got.
Otherwise, our summer has just been filled with long hot days, trying new things and making memories. The best way to fill you in is through pictures, so here are a bunch to catch you all up.
