Busy busy Summer

Mallory is 9 months old, oh my goodness time is flying.  We had Mallory's well-check this morning and everything looked great.  She is 30 inches tall, which puts her still off the charts in height.  Mallory is up to 18 pounds 3 oz, so close to the 50% mark in weight!  The doctor said she looked great and was as healthy as could be.  This month Mallory decided to add a few more teeth, with her both of her canines on top coming in, and then one of her top front teeth as well.  The other front tooth should make its appearance any day now as well.  She is still army-crawling all over the place.  Not pulling up or cruising yet, but she is starting to take a few steps when you are holding her hands, and she loves to be standing, so I have a feeling it wont be long.

June was so busy for us, but oh so much fun.  We started out the month with Vacation Bible School at the church.  By volunteering, the girls got to go all week as well and I was blown away by the amount of work and effort goes into the preschool VBS even though they weren't "officially" apart of the program.  Chloe and Mallory both loved it, so much so Chloe would cry when it was time to leave every day.  I am so beyond thankful for our church and the fact that Chloe asks almost daily if its "a church day."

That weekend Nolen had the girls by himself and they had a blast.  I think the girls loved spending that one on one time with their daddy!  He even got them dress and coordinating while I was away!

The following weekend we decided to take a mini-vacation to the Biloxi area.  Our first stop was the Children's Museum in Gulfport, and we had a blast.  We could have spent all day there playing, especially if it hadn't been raining and we could have gone outside to the tree houses.  Chloe loved playing doctor, being on "tv", working on the boats, and pretty much anything else she could find.

Then we headed down the beach to find some lunch and came across a great spot.  The rain had finally passed, so it was still overcast and cool, so we were able to sit and enjoy lunch outside next to the beach!  I think Chloe had worked up an appetite, because she cleared her plate and got a special "plate clearer" dessert.

After lunch we headed to the hotel to let the girls get a nap before heading to the beach.  We knew Chloe loved the beach and Mallory followed suit.  She was determined to taste every piece of sand or thing on the ground.  Then once we sat her in the water she was all smiles.  Mallory just sat there in the surf splashing and smiling and would have as long as we would have let her.

The next morning we got up and walked across the street to Waffle House for breakfast.  I can honestly say I had never eaten at one before this.  Chloe thought it was fun to drink "daddy's coffee" all morning too!

Then we headed down to the lighthouse and walked out on the big pier.  There were several men fishing from the pier so Chloe loved watching them.  One of them even offered to let her hold one of the fish, but she said it was too slimy.

We finished our trip in the pool at the hotel then headed home.  It was a quick trip, but we had a blast.  The next day was Father's Day so we filled it with some of Nolen's favorites, Crawfish Etouffee and breakfast sandwiches and watching some World Cup.  Uncle Jacob also came over to watch some soccer with us, until Chloe turned him into her own "sparky" (a horse).

At the end of the month we went up to Denver for a week!  Oh, the lack of humidity is a beautiful thing!  It's just beautiful up there, especially in the summer.  I flew up with the girls early one morning and we hit the ground running with Big & Weezer.  Uncle Colin came over and we went swimming and to the park.  It didn't take Chloe long to warm back up to anyone who wanted to be her friend.  She was making friends left and right at the pool and would swim with them all!

Mimi came up on Wednesday and Nolen joined us on Thursday.  So Friday, we all drove up into the mountains to go on a train ride!  Chloe was in heaven!  She kept saying "all-aboard!"  Then would just look out the window at everything passing her by.  We sat in a cafe-cart, so we were able to enjoy some snacks on the trip as well.  It was about an hour ride, but we all loved it!

Saturday Nolen and I attempted to do the Coors Field tour, but it sold out to the people directly in front of us.  To say I was bummed would be an understatement, but I know there will be other chances when we go back to Denver.  We instead found an awesome bar/ grill across the street and sat up on the roof and watched some soccer and drank local brews.  It was a wonderful afternoon date while the girls were napping.

Sunday we spent all day in the pool before flying out late that night.  It was a great trip that went by way to fast as usual.

Here are just some other random pictures from June that I thought I would share.

We introduced Mallory to the swing while in Denver, and she loved them!

Chloe holding Mallory!  Mallory loves her big sister.

We introduced Chloe to the wonderful banana split!  Let's just say she now things ice cream should come with wonderful toppings every time.

Here is the best picture of the four of us we could get.

Needless to say June was a wonderful month!  We had a lot of fun and it is continuing into July!  Hope you all are having a wonderful summer!
