It started two weeks ago with Chloe's final soccer game. She decided she wanted to try a team-sport this year, so we signed her up for soccer through Upward Sports at our church. Now, Chloe will tell you that her favorite part of every game were the water breaks and when the game was over, however, she didn't complain once while on the field and she always tried her best. We couldn't be more proud of her and how her season went. She even ended the season on a high note with her first soccer goal. Nolen also his first taste of coaching one of our girls sports. I'd say it was a learning experience for the whole family, as Mallory and Courtney didn't love to sit and just watch Chloe play, but we all enjoyed it.
Next was Mallory had her last day at Hosanna the next Tuesday. Mallory had a great year and we are starting to see her grow leaps and bounds. We've always known she is smart, but she has blown us away with her ability to memorize and remember everything her teachers would throw at her. We were so blessed by Ms. Annette and Ms. Dawn this year. Almost every day at drop off Mallory would "act" like she was super upset I was leaving, but when I would pick her up she was already asking about when she could go back.
Last weekend Mallory finished up her first year of dance with her awards ceremony and dance recital. To say she loved dance would be an understatement. That girl was made for the stage! She was none too happy when I told her she was all done and wouldn't be going back on the stage. Mallory won't stop asking when she can go see Ms. Michelle again and get ready for her next performance.
Chloe had her last day in kindergarten this past Tuesday and I cannot believe she is moving onto first grade. The year went by way to fast, but she had a wonderful year. We hit the jackpot with her teacher, Mrs. Siragusa. She knew how to push Chloe further than what the other students were ready for, but not too far to discourage her. Chloe loves school and is sad that it is over for the summer, but I think the break will be welcomed. Even though she is already working through her 1st grade workbook!
To say both girls had a great year would be an understatement. We have learned a lot about them both this year through their schooling and activities. Chloe continues to be such the rule follower, down to the minute. Chloe loves to be a helper and set a good example to her fellow classmates. Mallory is the leader of the pack, never meets and stranger and either loves or dislikes something with all the emotions she can muster. We were so blessed to have a wonderful school year, but are now looking forward to a summer full of time spent together as a family. Until next time...
